Bio

Cindy Hartman was born in Truckee, California, and spent her childhood in small, remote mountain towns where she learned the value of hard work and developed her love of nature. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University.

In a small town, near Dallas, Texas, Cindy spent several years volunteering while her kids were young, serving as a Girl Scout leader, working at a local food pantry, helping homeless women and children at a shelter, volunteering as a trail and kayak guide at a science museum and nature sanctuary, helping in the classroom at her children’s schools, and serving on the gifted and talented education association board.

After spending time in her brothers physical and occupational therapy clinic, and seeing people’s lives change through the efforts of the therapists, Cindy became fascinated by the rehabilitation process and decided to become an Occupational Therapist, specializing in hand therapy.

Cindy graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, then returned to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of her youth to build her career. She has worked as an Occupational Therapist, specializing in hand therapy and upper extremity injuries, at the Center for Health and Sports Performance in Truckee and at Nevada Hand Therapy in Reno. Her enthusiasm for learning and education continues as she prepares to take her Certified Hand Therapy exam within the next year. Cindy prides herself in getting to know each of her patients and the stories behind the hands she is treating. She is excited to be a part of Great Basin Orthopedics’ therapy team and is committed to quality, personalized patient care.

On any given weekend, Cindy can be found exploring the outdoors. She enjoys backpacking, day hiking, snow skiing, mountain biking, horseback riding and hunting. She also enjoys running, yoga, road biking and taking road trips. She continues to enjoy being a mother and spending time with her kids. Her oldest daughter is attending college in Sacramento and her two youngest are finishing high school in Reno.
